ASP's 2021 Annual Conference

We've all read the articles. Experts tell us the majority of organizations fail to execute their strategies successfully, with reports of the failure rate ranging from 50-90%. As a strategist, you've almost certainly lived the experience - watching what you considered a well-formulated strategy underachieve, or at worst, flame-out completely. And like your strategy peers from around the globe you have undoubtedly asked yourself the question: Why? What went wrong? Was it formulation? Was it errors in execution? Did the strategy lack buy-in? Was the oversight lax or incomplete? Did operational structure and processes get in the way?

The truth is failure in any one of these efforts will undermine and even doom success.

ASP's 2021 Annual Conference will focus on the holistic approach to strategy management, exploring the strategy life cycle and the set of interconnected and overlapping activities essential to successfully achieving desired strategic results. Through keynotes, breakout sessions, deep dive Masterclasses, and programming created by and for key regions around the world, the 2021 Conference will open your eyes to a broader and deeper understanding of the intersection of all elements of strategy management and equip you with skills, tools and processes you can use to advance your career and your organization's success.

Strategy is not created in a vacuum and cannot be created in silos. The 2021 Conference draws upon ASP's newly revised Body of Knowledge and the updated competencies that form the framework of ASP's Strategic Management Professional and Strategic Planning Professional Certification exams to explore and promote the intersection of essential activities that underlie successful strategy. If you are interested in advancing your understanding of the field of strategy and enhancing your personal development in strategy management this is the conference to attend.

The conference will offer two types of presentations:

• Masterclasses: Intensive 120 minute pre-conference skill-building workshops intended to provide hands-on experience and actionable tools and information participants can put to use immediately in their organizations. We are seeking presentations to meet the needs of strategists at every career stage, from those new to the field of strategy development and execution, to seasoned strategists looking for innovative ideas and approaches to incorporate into their practices. Masterclasses will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021.
• Breakout Sessions: 40 minute presentations followed by a 10 minute Q&A. Breakout Sessions will be held on both Thursday, May 20 and Friday, May 21, 2021.
